Tactile perception is a core capability enabling robots to perform precise manipulation and interact with their environment, particularly in applications requiring gentle contact, such as damage-free grasping. This study proposes a novel arrayed triboelectric pressure sensor based on a Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)/carbon nanotubes (CNT)/carbon black (CB) friction layer (PCC-ATPS) featuring a variable-curvature friction layer of PDMS/CNT/CB. Through the development of composite materials and a multi-layer stacked structure, the sensor effectively addresses key challenges in existing triboelectric devices, such as flexibility, environmental adaptability, and spatial resolution. The sensor employs a PDMS/CNT/CB variable-curvature composite friction layer combined with a spring-assisted elastic support structure. This design achieves a 108 % improvement in voltage output and excellent mechanical durability (over 12,000 cycles). The 3 × 3 array design enables a broad pressure detection range of 0.5–30 N, with a response time of only 107 ms. Experimental results demonstrate that the PCC-ATPS integrated in a robotic gripper can accurately identify both the magnitude and location of pressure when grasping various objects (e.g., apples and eggs), while simultaneously monitoring grip force distribution in real time. This research provides a new tactile sensing approach for robots that offers high sensitivity, high resolution, and low power consumption, thereby advancing the development of intelligent damage-free grasping technology.
